SmakTalk is a living research repository.

Every entry is built to survive the next decade of display and delivery evolution.

WHAT IT IS

SmakTalk is the research and systems wing of Smak Studios. A structured library for colour science, exposure philosophy, signal integrity, HDR/SDR workflows, and narrative image construction.

All work is organized under the SMT Framework – SMT100 (Principles) through SMT400 (Projects).

This is not a conventional blog. Entries function as working notes, proofs, and system references: creative work accountable to signal, math, and intent.

WHY IT EXISTS

Tools change. Standards update. Assumptions break. Methods refine. SmakTalk exists to preserve the reasoning behind image decisions. Not just the results.

Built as a living repository. Corrections and challenges welcome via contact.

SMAK STUDIOS

Smak Studios is not a production company in the conventional sense, and it is not a content channel. It is a systems-oriented framework for making movies. Aligning cinematography and finishing as a unified workflow in service of story.

Projects such as Death on Scenic Drive, Queen of Spades, and Do Not Disturb were shaped within this framework: acquisition, colour, and delivery held accountable end-to-end.

THREE WINGS

Smak Studios operates across three defined domains:

  • Smak Cinema | cinematography and image acquisition.
  • Smak Colour | colour grading and finishing.
  • SmakTalk | research, systems, and documented methodology.
